New Jersey Horror Con And Film Festival 2018 Lineup Announced


New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival has confirmed that the Queen of Halloween and Mistress of the Dark Cassandra Peterson will make her only local appearance at The Showboat on September 22nd and 23rd. Cassandra Peterson is an actress is best known for her portrayal of the horror hostess character Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, carving out an enduring niche in popular American culture. Elvira's reign as 'Queen of Halloween' has now spanned thirty-five years and includes two nationally syndicated television series, two feature films (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and Elvira’s Haunted Hills), She has made hundreds of film, television, and live appearances including Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TV Series), 13 Nights of Elvira, Last Man Standing (TV Series), St. Elsewhere, Cheech and Chong's Next Movie, Elvira's Movie Macabre, The Grammy Awards, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, Search for the Next Elvira, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Celebrity Ghost Stories, Oddities, Counting Cars, Face Off and Halloween Wars.

Ms. Peterson joins an already extraordinary gathering of celebrities for the weekend show in Atlantic City, including:

“This is our 4th show, and it is by far the best line-up of celebrities that we have had yet”, says Ryan Scott Weber, a New Jersey-based film producer, and director who has shifted his talents to producing the New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival. “For us, it’s all about the horror fan’s experience at our show and the film festival being the heart of it. This time around, we have re-created Elvira’s television hosting set so fans can have a photo op with Cassandra Peterson as if they were appearing on her television show. We will also have a screen used K.I.T.T. car from Knight Rider for photo ops with William Daniels, who was the voice of the car on the TV series.”

In addition to established talent, NJ Horror Con and Film Festival is the only con that offers up and coming filmmakers a showcase for their work. “We support regional and national filmmakers with the opportunity to have their film selected for screening at the show. Once submitted, all submissions are carefully reviewed by our panel for screening at the Con. There are exceptional films being made out there and our festival offers these writers, directors, actors and special effects people exposure and the opportunity to win awards,” continues Ryan. Films will be screened continuously during all three days of the con in a special screening area on the show floor with no additional cost to the guest. In addition to the aspiring filmmakers, established production houses like Troma Entertainment and Wild Eye Productions will have booths on the show floor providing a great networking opportunity for those looking to break into the industry.
