Finally, Tool Will Release Their New Album This August!

Tool Announce New Album Date

Almost exactly one year after teasing new music with a demo of a new track, titled "Descending," which is the first piece of music off of their forthcoming record, and the first since the 2006's 10,000 Days!

Today, only a few days after performing two new songs, the aforementioned one and "Invincible," at Welcome to Rockville, the band has at long last, officially announced an August 30th release for their brand new album. Easily one of the most anticipated releases of the year!

Reported by Loudwire, during the intermission of last night’s (May 7th) show in Birmingham, Alabama, a video screen displayed the text "August 30". The news was then confirmed on the band’s official Twitter account, thus breaking the internet.

The site also points out that official profiles for the band have appeared on music streaming services such as Apple and Spotify, and as many of you know, Tool are one of the few remaining holdouts to hit digital music streaming platforms. So the day may be drawing near where the band finally releases their catalog for digital consumption!

In related news, James Maynard Keenan released his new A Perfect Circle album, Eat the Elephant, last year.
