Kore Rozzik, frontman of the band of the same name, calls himself "The Bastard Child of New York City." His band is rising in stock, having toured with Otep last year, and this year with Alice Cooper guitarist, the shred-tastic Nita Strauss. Kore's theatrical brand of hard rock is being noticed, and their current deal with Cleopatra Records is allowing them to pick up steam in a big way. Add to this their upcoming headlining Vengeance Across America Halloween Tour, and the New York quartet is indeed putting things into overdrive.
Off the heels of their debut studio album Vengeance Overdrive, which was part concept album, part middle finger to the status quo, Kore Locos can now enjoy the music video for "Can't Stop Won't Stop." Where some music videos in rock and metal are super serious, this one is very much "no fucks given," as Kore makes his way through Queens and NYC, getting into all sorts of shenanigans along the way.
When a band that is dark and full of grandeur can have that silly, "let's fuck around" side and not feel bad about it, it's refreshing, especially in the super serious metal world. I saw Kore Rozzik for the first time back when they opened for Otep, and I was immediately drawn in by their energy, look, and the atmosphere their music and visuals created. Anyone looking for a new band with an older rock touch needs to get themselves hip to Kore Rozzik as they're able.
The Vengeance Across America Halloween Tour kicks off in Cleveland, OH on October 21st. For more information, check out the band's website.
