First Trailer Released For 'Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood'

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood Trailer

Announced for the first time at E3 2019, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, developed by Cyanide Studios and published by Bigben, unveiled its first trailer at this weekend's PDXCON in Berlin. You can view the trailer and read some details on the game below.

Based on the pen-and-paper tabletop RPG game by the same name, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood places you in the role of Cahal, a banished werewolf, forced to return to aid of his endangered Tribe and master the devastating Rage within him to punish all those that would pollute, destroy, and corrupt our Mother Earth, Gaïa. On his bloody quest for redemption, Cahal will play a pivotal role in the Great War of the Garou against Pentex, a powerful corporation whose activities are upsetting the balance of nature.

Following the presentation of the trailer, Patch, Cyanide's Game Director, gave more details on the principal characteristics of the game. As a big fan of the pen-and-paper game, it's only natural that he became the driving force for this project within Cyanide. The video game carries over all the main aspects of the pen-and-paper game in an unflinchingly mature universe overflowing with current topics such as the destruction of nature by man and their machines. Rage, a central element of the game, brings a subtlety to the game which requires players to learn to control it in order to make the most of it.

Mature, brutal, and complex, the game invites the player to embody Cahal throughout his quest of bloody redemption. He'll play an essential role in the great war led by the Garous against Pentex, whose activities are devastating the natural world.

Personally, I think the world needs more werewolf-centric games, as 2014's The Order: 1886 was the last one to really have an impact. Needless to say, I'm certainly looking forward to this game!

Werewolf : The Apocalypse – Earthblood will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2020.
