Ice Nine Kills' love letter to horror flicks, their 2018 album The Silver Scream, is getting a "Final Cut" version, due out this Friday, October 25th. Ahead of the updated release of this killer record, the Boston metalcore outfit has a new track out, called "Your Number's Up," as it pays tribute to the Wes Craven-directed game changer Scream. The track follows the format of the original Silver Scream album, with each track's source material being a classic horror film.
The track itself is an absolute banger, with vocalist Spencer Charnas mixing his clean vocals with his metalcore growls and grunts over a cacophony of guitars, orchestral production, and a haunting melody. With Sarah J. Bartholomew, the voice of Life is Strange 2's Cassidy, playing the victim in this interpretation, "Your Number's Up" is a track that I'm frankly a little upset was left as a B-side for this album cycle.
The Silver Scream: Final Cut is due out this Friday and the pre-order packages look like true must-haves, with bonuses ranging from pins and patches to a special VHS-style packaging for the CD/DVD combo. The cover art for this new single has also been turned into a new T-shirt for the occasion.
The standard version of The Silver Scream is available now via Fearless Records. The Final Cut will be released this Friday, October 25th, 2019. To pre-order the album and any special edition bonus items, visit store.iceninekills.com.
