Ozzy Osbourne Lies 'Under The Graveyard' With New Track, Announces New Album For 2020

Ozzy Osbourne Premieres Under the Graveyard

The Prince of Darkness has assumed his throne once again. Ozzy Osbourne, the godfather of heavy metal, has a new song for the first time since 2010's Scream. Since then, it seemed like the metal world was destined to lose the legend, between relapses and tumbles on and off the road, but the seventy-year-old bastion of the medium isn't just alive, he's making his mark.

Earlier this year, Ozzy had a guest spot on Post Malone's "Take What You Want," spurring all manner of tweets asking who this "new artist" is (insert a retina-detaching eyeroll here). But just in case anyone forgot just who the fuck Ozzy Osbourne is, let them be reminded with the new track "Under the Graveyard." It will be the lead single from the new album Ordinary Man, due out sometime in 2020.

The song itself is a triumph, sounding an awful lot like old Black Sabbath, with the fuzz-laden guitars and monster riffs. Lyrically, the song is vulnerable and unguarded, as the persona talks about wasting away in the titular graveyard, contemplating the past and how they wound up where they are now. Despite it being so emotionally wrenching, it left me smiling ear to ear, knowing that Ozzy is alive and kicking, both corporeally and musically.

Check out "Under the Graveyard" below!
