The year of the Rat is the fourth full year of the Fog, as Dead by Daylight looks to once again usher in the Lunar New Year with a special event. This year's "Scarlet Swarm" will bring fireworks and red lanterns across the Fog and the realm of the Entity, as well as new cosmetic items for several of the Survivors and Killers.
Jeff Johansen and The Legion have new exclusive outfits available during this event, while outfits for Feng Min, Ace Visconti, and The Huntress will be discounted in the game's store. In addition, players who log in during the event will receive two event charms and cosmetics for Dwight Fairfield, Nea Karlsson, and The Hillbilly absolutely free.
As holiday events have featured in the past, Generators and Hooks will be linked to Bloodpoint bonuses and special currency for purchasing the event exclusives. Returning this year are the Chinese Firecracker items, which can be used to blind a Killer if times properly.
Finally, the changes posited by the developers for The Doctor's Shock attack, Hex: Ruin, and the Gatekeeper emblem will all go into effect in the mid-chapter patch, which went live at 11am on Tuesday for all platforms.
