After collaborating together on multiple occasions for Lost Themes, Lost Themes II and Halloween (2018), musician Daniel Davies and horror master John Carpenter have teamed up once again for a brand new track, titled "Destructive Field."
The trailer is taken from Davies' upcoming solo record Signals, which will be released on February 28th from Sacred Bones Records. Give it a listen below!
John Carpenter took to Twitter today to share his excitement for the new track: "I was honored to play on Destructive Field, the new single from @DDaviesMusic‘s upcoming album ‘Signals,’ out 2/28. Listen to it now!"
With the exception of "Destructive Field," all the music on the record is recorded by Davies himself.
Sacred Bones explains, "Whether scoring a film or making a solo album, Daniel Davies thinks cinematically. Images and story – on a movie screen, on a canvas, or flashing through his mind – inform the shape of his compositions and the sounds he uses to bring them to life. For Signals, his first solo record for Sacred Bones, the inspiration for his musical narration was a collaboration with visual artist Jesse Draxler, whose otherworldly mixed media works grace the cover and the booklet." "Using Draxler’s images as his jumping off point, Davies created eight richly textured compositions that created a soundtrack for the unsettling world of the artwork."
The company is offering up a mail-order exclusive edition of 200 copies, pressed on smoke color vinyl, with eight exclusive 8.5x11" riso prints by Jesse Draxler, in an exclusive wrap around sleeve, wax sealed, hand-numbered and available by mail-order only.
