UK industrial rivetheads Biomechanical have proudly “not taken your shit since 2013, probably,” crafting a gritty industrial sound with a smooth, danceable edge to it. After five years perfecting it, the band’s live show staple “Enter the Animal” is now complete, and has been unleashed in all of its gruesome glory.
The plucked, worldly intro is enough to bring the listeners in close, only to shriek and catch them off-guard. The hook is a singalong of balladic proportions, with the line “hey, we’ve got more to say / all those motherfuckers never get in the way” standing out in particular. It’s an energetic and dangerous track, and one that has great potential to destroy a club night with its aggressive groove and anthemic tone.
In addition to the original single, C-Lekktor and Sirus have each provided their own takes on “Enter the Animal,” and each one stands out on its own. The former is less industrial and more straightforward electronic, a stronger club vibe throughout. A different effect is used on the two-note lead found in the original mix, but it stands out in the chorus just like in said original. Sirus’ remix changes up the key, with a more modern EDM feel, informed by EBM nevertheless, keeping the core of the composition in mind and working from that, rather than against it.
