'Darkwood' Getting Limited Physical Edition Release on Nintendo Switch This Month

Successfully crowdfunded on Indiegogo back in 2013, Acid Wizard Studio's survival horror game Darkwood spent three years in early access before officially launching to critical acclaim in 2017. The developer has now teamed up with Super Rare Games to bring the game to Nintendo Switch as a limited physical edition offering.

Now up for pre-order, the physical edition of Darkwood includes the game on a cartridge, interior art, a full-color manual, and exclusive sticker and a three-card trading card pack. The release is limited to 5,000 copies and will set you back $34.97. Super Rare states that it's expected to ship at the end of October.

In the game, "Wade through the grueling, bizarre world of Darkwood and delve into the creepiest secrets of its inhabitants to escape the infested land before it destroys your body and consumes your mind."

"Craft weapons, prepare traps, fortify hideouts - you will explore and scavenge the eerie forests of the Soviet Bloc by day, then hunker down in your hideout at night. With nightmarish forces corrupting the woods, wait and pray for the sun to come up the next morning."

Darkwood is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam.
