In addition to Megadeth recently announcing their new album and releasing its first single, Gibson has this week introduced a stunning limited edition Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP Rust in Peace signature model, named after the album that set a new standard for heavy metal.
Paying tribute to Megadeth's seminal 1990 album and its sci-fi lyrical themes, the guitar features a gorgeous Alien Tech Green nitrocellulose lacquer finish that is complemented by black chrome hardware.
For the new Flying V EXP Rust in Peace guitar, Gibson luthiers collaborated with Dave Mustaine to create a model that "delivers the powerful, heavy sound and exceptional playing performance that Dave demands."
The guitar sports a 25.5" scale mahogany neck and an ebony fretboard with a compound fretboard radius, 24 medium jumbo frets, two-tone green/pearloid Rust in Peace diamond inlays, an Explorer-style headstock with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners with Kidney buttons, a Graph Tech nut, and Dave Mustaine's signature on the truss rod cover.
The mahogany Flying V-style body is equipped with a Tune-O-Matic bridge, a Stop Bar tailpiece, and a Dave Mustaine signature Seymour Duncan Thrash Factor pickup set.
A Rust in Peace custom hardshell case is also included, with a Dave Mustaine Signature Richter Strap inside the case.
Priced at $2,999, the Flying V EXP Rust in Peace model is now up for sale on Gibson.com. Grab one now before they fly off the shelf!
