'Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition' For Nintendo Switch To Feature "Bloody Palace" Local Co-Op Mode

Announced back in November, Capcom has revealed the final goodie for their upcoming Nintendo Switch port of Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition, and it's a nifty little feature that's not available in any other version of the game.

This week, producer Matt Walker confirmed on the game's official Twitter profile that Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition on the Switch will feature a co-op mode for the "Bloody Palace" mode!

"Bloody Palace now has local co-op," Walker revealed in the announcement video. "So now you’ll be able to play as Dante and Vergil—two players—it’s kind of like if you’ve played Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition before in the doppelganger style. There was a hidden Easter egg where you can pick up a second controller and play as, basically, two players."

He goes on to reveal one player will play as Dante and the other as Vergil. Players will be able to use any different combination of single Joy-Cons or double Joy-Cons, or Pro Controllers. Different controller customization options will also be available for each player. The "Bloody Palace" co-op mode will be available after completing the story's intro mission.

Following the announcement, Capcom took to Twitch to show of the new co-op mode.

"Devil May Cry 3 serves as a prequel for the iconic action series, unfolding years before the original Devil May Cry with a younger version of Dante. This origin story explores the journey leading up to and culminating in Dante’s face-off against his twin brother, Vergil, who is set on unlocking a gate to the demonic realm. Dante must use his trademark sword Rebellion and dual pistols Ebony and Ivory to stop Vergil and prevent the world from becoming infested by demons. Along the way, players will gain insight into many aspects of the series from the first encounter with fan-favorite Lady as well as the beginnings of Dante’s shop and origins of the series name."

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition will be available for digital download for $19.99 on the Nintendo Switch beginning February 20th, 2020.
