Following The Dusty Classic Semi-Finals, The Card for Sunday's 'NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day' Is Set

Last night on NXT marked the semi-finals of both the men’s and women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournaments, as well as the go-home show before this Sunday’s TakeOver: Vengeance Day. With these culminations, we now know the tournament finals for both brackets, which will feature on this Sunday’s card, and have championship implications for the winners.

On the men’s side, MSK (formerly The Rascalz in IMPACT Wrestling) defeated Legado del Fantasma, while Grizzled Young Veterans beat the odd couple pairing of Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. This will mean MSK and GYV will compete for the Dusty Classic final, as well as a future NXT Tag Team Championship match. Those titles are currently held by Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch of Pat’s Pack.

For the first-ever Women’s Dusty Classic final, we will see Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez battle Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart, the latter of whom beat Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell of The Way last night to advance. The winners of the Women’s tournament will earn a future match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, currently held by the team of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

While the card is always subject to change, the final card for this Sunday is set, and reads as follows:

NXT Championship

Finn Balor (c) vs. Pete Dunne

NXT North American Championship

Johnny Gargano (c) vs. Kushida

Triple Threat Match for the NXT Women’s Championship

Io Shirai (c) vs. Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Martinez

Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Final

MSK vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Final

Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez vs. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart

NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day will stream live on the WWE Network on Sunday, February 14th, beginning at 7pm EST. The kick-off show will begin thirty minutes before at 6:30pm EST.
