Gimme Metal Vinyl Club's June Release Features Cancer's 'To The Gory End'

The Gimme Metal Vinyl Club has revealed that their June release will feature the re-issue of Cancer's 1990 debut album, To the Gory End!

This release will be pressed on Gimme exclusive transparent yellow vinyl, featuring the original, uncensored cover artwork, and remastered audio courtesy of Peaceville Records.

The cover, by drummer Carl Stokes, is based on a scene in George A. Romero's 1978 classic Dawn of the Dead, wherein Tom Savini's character "Blades" puts his machete through a zombie's head.

To the Gory End became a firm genre classic with its influential display of aural savagery containing fittingly shocking topics to match. The album swiftly established Cancer as one of the highlights of the rising UK death metal scene alongside such bands as Bolt Thrower and Carcass.

To the Gory End was recorded at Loco Studios in the winter of 1989, with legendary producer Scott Burns (Death, Obituary, Sepultura) overseeing the recording and mixing duties, which subsequently took place at Morrisound In Florida, itself synonymous with the creation of many classics of the genre. The album also notably features a guest appearance by John Tardy of Obituary on the track "Die Die".

The re-issue's targeted release date is June 15th, 2022. May 31st is the last day to sign up for this release, if you plan on securing a copy for yourself. So act fast!
