Toronto-based genre specialist Raven Banner has boarded worldwide sales rights to Scott Hansen’s metal star-studded vampire film The Virginia Bitches, which will be performing at the upcoming Cannes market, ScreenDaily reports.
The film follows a female vampire death metal band trapped in a town of cannibals that's led by a warlock.
Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe and Alissa White-Gluz of Swedish death metal band Arch Enemy have signed to star.
Underoath keyboard player Chris Dudley is pulling double duty as producer and composer, while Maylene and the Sons of Disaster vocalist Dallas Taylor will also star and serves as executive producer.
Other metal musicians set to appear on screen include Cristian Machado from Lions at the Gate, Heidi Shepherd from Butcher Babies, Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein from the Misfits and Scott Ian Lewis from Carnifex.
Desiree Connell has written the screenplay for the film, which is set for a summer shoot in Georgia.
The site adds, "Hansen is renowned for his work in music videos and has worked with the likes of Meshuggah, Suicide Silence, Deicide and Sevendust." He also directed the Corey Taylor-starring Halloween horror Bad Candy.
