Announced back in June, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment will be bringing the culture-defining Steven Spielberg film Jaws to IMAX screens nationwide for the very first time this Labor Day Weekend.
Jaws will take a bite out of IMAX and RealD 3D screens beginning September 2nd, 2022, and a brand new IMAX trailer has been released to celebrate the iconic film's return to theaters. Check it out below!
Spielberg's E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial will also be released exclusively on IMAX screens on August 12th, in celebration of the film's 40th anniversary.

Originally released on June 20th, 1975, Jaws, based on the best-selling novel by Peter Benchley, became the first true summer blockbuster and a cultural tsunami. It shattered every record to become the highest-grossing film of the year, earning a nomination for Best Picture and winning three Academy Awards, including one for John Williams' iconic musical score. Almost five decades later, Jaws has become inexorable from global film culture, has inspired multiple generations of filmmakers and remains one of the most thrilling, terrifying and unforgettable films of all time.
In the film, "When the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, the town’s chief of police (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Robert Shaw) embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again. Featuring an unforgettable score that evokes pure terror, Jaws remains one of the influential and gripping adventures in motion picture history."
Jaws celebrated it 45th anniversary back in 2020 with a Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD release.
