Jimmy Urine and Serj Tankian Come Together for 'Fuktronic' for Record Store Day Special

In the latest edition of “musical collaborations we didn’t know we wanted,” Jimmy Urine (Mindless Self Indulgence, EURINGER) and Serj Tankian (System of a Down) are releasing their joint effort “Fuktronic” as a part of Record Store Day 2020. Conceived as the soundtrack to a British gangster film, the electronic project will see its first full release this June.

Details for the project emerged some seven years ago, when the track “Chase” emerged on Serj Tankian’s SoundCloud profile. After a period of radio silence, the project was more or less accepted as dead in the water, before the announcement for Record Store Day:

“Fuktronic is the brainchild of Jimmy Urine and Serj Tankian, who’ve made the ultimate electronic soundtrack for a one of a kind British gangster film. Urine said about the project: “Our dynamic is very chill, which is why we do this kind of stuff, especially because, with Fuktronic, it's electronic type soundtrack music, which we've both been doing a lot of on our own. Fuktronic is a 12-track journey; four instrumentals and eight tracks featuring original scripted and voice-acted dialogue that chronicle the trials and tribulations of a fresh-out-of-prison British gangster who hasn’t learned his lesson.”

See the listing on the official Record Store Day website, and listen to “Chase” here.
