Run The Jewels has brought bass-heavy thunder in their social commentary hip-hop for three records, and thus their new disc RTJ4 may be one of the most hyped records of 2020 for any genre of music. In the wake of the protests against police brutality and racially-charged violence, subjects that Killer Mike and El-P are no strangers to writing and rapping about, the duo has decided to open the floodgates and release the album digitally for free, as of 12pm on Wednesday, a full two days before the original release date.
This isn’t the first time that the duo have had album releases end up coinciding with incidents of modern racial tension. Their 2014 disc Run The Jewels II came out around the time of unrest in Ferguson, and Run The Jewels III was released around the 2016 presidential election.

The digital download is available on their website, and while it is free, fans have the option to donate to the National Lawyers Guild Mass Defense Fund. There is also a link to donate to many other social justice organizations here.
