Bring back my girls, but make it spooky.
If there’s one thing that has warmed my heart about the alumni of RuPaul’s Drag Race as of late, it’s been their efforts on social media in regards to voting. All jokes aside, this election cycle is a big ‘un, and with respect to that, the queens of the popular reality competition series are gearing up for a Halloween event looking to help independent artists, as well as voter engagement.
As first announced by Entertainment Weekly, the cast of season twelve of RuPaul’s Drag Race will take part in a special livestream performance extravaganza called Bring Back My Ghouls. Participating in the festivities will be Dahlia Sin, Rock M. Sakura, Nicky Doll, Aiden Zhane, Brita, Jan, Widow Von'Du, Heidi N Closet, Jackie Cox, Gigi Goode, Crystal Methyd, and season 12 winner Jaida Essence Hall.
Throughout the stream, there will be performances, interviews, a special message from RuPaul herself, and a Time to Vote presentation by Heidi and Brita. This segment, a parody of RuPaul’s song “Peanut Butter,” will be produced in conjunction with Vote Save America and will highlight the importance of voting. In addition, fans will be able to tip the performers via Venmo, CashApp, and PayPal, in lieu of handing physical tips to the performers as they would in an in-person drag show.
The Bring Back My Ghouls event will stream live on Friday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT on World of Wonder's YouTube channel and the WOW Presents Plus subscription service.
