After sitting in development hell for well over a decade, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 made an appearance at today's Xbox Games Showcase with a new trailer.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series takes place in The Zone, an area of exclusion around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, full of radiation, mutants and anomalies. You play as a Bounty hunter, also known as a stalker, in search of treasures and mysteries left behind after the meltdown.
For the long-awaited sequel, developer GSC Game World promises "the ultimate S.T.A.L.K.E.R. experience of unprecedented scale, advanced graphics, freedom of choices and the thickest atmosphere of a deadly adventure."
The game also boasts one of the biggest open-worlds to date, along with an epic, non-linear story with multiple endings.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is coming first to Xbox Series X as a "console launch exclusive" and will be part of Xbox Game Pass program. It'll arrive on PC at a later date.
