'Shin Megami Tensei V' and 'Shin Megami Tensei III' HD Remaster Coming to Nintendo Switch

Shin Megami Tensei V Announced

During the first-ever Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, a video presentation focused on Nintendo Switch games from the company's development and publishing partners, Atlus revealed two new games in the popular and acclaimed Shin Megami Tensei RPG series.

First up, was a high-definition remake of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, a beloved classic in the series, coming to PlayStation 4 and Switch on October 29th in Japan, and Spring 2021 worldwide.

The next numbered entry in the series, Shin Megami Tensei V, was also revealed to be coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in 2021. In this epic role-playing game, order itself has crumbled and chaos reigns over all.

While Atlus was pretty tight-lipped regarding details about Shin Megami Tensei V, we're told Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster will feature improved graphics and gameplay based on the premise of "respect for the original". A new "Merciful" difficulty setting will be available as free downloadable content.

For those totally out of the loop, Shin Megami Tensei basically birthed the highly-popular Persona series. Both series share many similarities in terms of gameplay.
