Stoneburner to Join Darkotica For Hallo-Stream Event on October 29

A few months ago, I penned an editorial regarding this whole notion that Halloween is “cancelled.” Newsflash, it’s October 20th as I write this, and it still ain’t fucking cancelled. The current state of affairs calls for us to get creative, and for those of us in the industrial and goth communities, this notion is nothing new.

Such is the case for our friends at Darkotica, a goth/industrial club night based in Cincinnati, OH. A sister night to our partners at The iNation, the night moved to a livestream format early on in the times of Pandemia, and have enjoyed some measure of success in doing so. Whether raising money for Black Lives Matter and related causes, hosting performances from artists such as Moris Blak, or just playing the latest and greatest in electronic body music and beyond, the streams have been an enjoyable way to spend a Thursday night, even if it involves getting all dolled up without a place to physically go.

This Halloween, however, Darkotica is pulling out some major stops, as their Halloween show will feature Stoneburner, the tribal-infused electronic project of Steven Archer (Ego Likeness, Hopeful Machines, et al). The event will collect donations for the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), as Darkotica look to do their part to save our stages.

Joining the festivities will be resident DJs Nightpain, Impossible, and our own Stephen29, as well as Chris Favorite (Syn Rebooted, Rewind Cincy) and Dr Martin (Noir). Rumor has it that Stephen will be paying tribute to the Hot Topic mall goth days, so do with that information what you will. The stream will begin at 8pm EST on the Darkotica Twitch channel.

For more information, stay tuned to the Darkotica social media channels, including the Facebook event for the Hallo-Stream.
