After arriving on Blu-ray with a new 2K scan last year via Scream Factory, Ed Hunt's 1988 sci-fi horror film The Brain will be receiving its first-ever vinyl release next month!
Thanks to the folks at Terror Vision Records, this will actually be the first time Paul Zaza's (My Bloody Valentine, Prom Night) synthy score has been available on any format, with the audio being pulled from original tapes and remastered just for this incredibly limited release!
This release also marks the debut of Terror Vision's new "VHS Horror Favorites Series," which features scores from a bunch of movies founder Ryan Graveface used to rent on VHS in the '80s! Those scores will be put out on vinyl throughout the year.
In addition to the 2xLP set, Zaza's score will also be available on cassette and in a bundle that includes an enamel pin and a newly designed T-shirt.
Here's more details on the release:
Limited to 500 total, 200 of which are club copies
Liner notes by Paul Zaza
Side D includes 6 bonus tracks
Stoughton gatefold packaging, 2 full-color inner sleeves
"Independent Thinking" brochure and mini one-sheet included
Album artwork by Earl Kess / Inside gatefold artwork by Chloe Manon
Two vinyl colorways are available: Clear w/ Blue, Black & Red Swirls (mail-order only color) and Hand-Poured wax (Terror Vision subscribers only).
The Brain OST will ship on or around March 1st, 2020. Visit TerrorVision.com to pre-order on the format of your choice today! Check out a promo created by filmmaker Chris LaMartina (WNUF Halloween Special, Call Girl of Cthulhu) below!
