Todd McFarlane's Spawn Enters Kombat In New 'Mortal Kombat 11' Trailer

Spawn Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer

Though the long-awaited new film adaptation may be stuck in development hell, the hellspawn creation of animation legend Todd McFarlane is making the rounds. Spawn is the final addition to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, as the game closes in on one full year of kompetition. The demon formerly known as Al Simmons joins Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel, The Terminator, and The Joker as the contents of the Kombat Pack. The cameo will be Spawn’s first video game appearance since 2003’s SoulCalibur II, when he appeared as an console exclusive for Xbox players.

Weapons of war for Spawn include his chains, an SMG, and all manner of supernatural powers. It also appears as though he went to the Reptile school of invisibility, as one sequence sees him go off the visual radar following a chain attack. His Fatality is a full skinning and further evisceration, creating a gory, squishy mess of viscera and internal organs, and it’s both eye-opening and stomach-churning.

Kombat Pack holders will gain access to Spawn on March 17th, and the public will be able to purchase the Image Comics favorite one week later, starting March 24th.
