Last September, the gaming world was shaken to its very foundation, as Microsoft announced its acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of lauded game developers Bethesda Softworks. The line-up that this acquisition brings to the table is a veritable killers’ row of modern gaming: Fallout, Doom, The Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein and more are now a part of the Xbox family.
While the exclusivity of particular franchises is still being worked out, Xbox Game Pass has added a staggering twenty titles to the service, with sixteen of them available on PC, console, and even mobile devices for those with Game Pass Ultimate. Even better still, with the newly-unveiled FPS Boost, some of these titles will get a further technical upgrade.
The full lineup is as follows:
Dishonored Definitive Edition
Dishonored 2
Doom (1993) (incl. “Thy Flesh Consumed”)
Doom 2 (incl. Master Levels)
DOOM 3
DOOM 64
DOOM Eternal
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
The Elder Scrolls Online
The Evil Within
Fallout 4
Fallout 76 (incl. Steel Dawn expansion)
Fallout: New Vegas
Prey
RAGE 2
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
Wolfenstein: Youngblood
More news regarding upcoming Bethesda titles has been promised for later this year, but in the meantime this initiative is taking Game Pass to the moon. As risky business as mergers and acquisitions can be, this will no doubt have a lasting impact on the gaming industry for years to come.
