The rumors are true! Zombieland 2 is finally officially happening!
Deadline has reported that the original cast members (Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin) have all signed on to reprise their roles, with Ruben Fleischer back to direct the sequel to 2009's Zombieland!
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are also returning to write the script. Gavin Polone returns as producer, while Reese and Wernick will also serve as executive producers.
In Zombieland 2, “Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”
The film begins production in January 2019 and has a release date set for October 2019.
