As a fan of Blue Ruin and Green Room from director Jeremy Saulnier, I'm very much looking forward to his new feature Hold the Dark, Which arrives on Netflix September 28th. IndieWire has snagged the film's poster that you can check out below.
“There’s scenes in the Iraq War. There’s a lot of outback Alaskan landscapes. There’s aerial sequences. We’re dealing with bison and lynxes and wolves and all kinds of creatures,” Saulnier told Indiewire. “That was great to not build a contained environment and really milk it for all it’s worth like I did in ‘Green Room,’ but really bend my will around the landscape and the needs of the animals and to keep it very grounded and realistic, and not indulge in artificiality and exactly what I wanted every time.”
“The film, a Netflix original, casts Westworld star Jeffrey Wright as wolf expert Russell Core who ventures to the Alaskan village of Keelut when three children go missing – assumed to be the work of lupine activity.”
Jeremy Saulnier co-wrote the film with Macon Blair. Hold the Dark also stars Alexander Skarsgård, James Badge Dale, Riley Keough and Beckham Crawford.
