This figure based on the 1983 creature feature The Deadly Spawn is a must-own for fans of the film and quality figures in general! The officially licensed vinyl toy is sculpted by James Groman and being crowd-funded on Kickstarter by Justin Ishmael. There's multiple different versions to choose from including the Deadly Spawn larvae and the fully grown Deadly Spawn, both painted and unpainted.
The Deadly Spawn Larvae is made in soft vinyl and measures 7" long and 2.5" high. This replicates the "baby" form most famously seen in the film terrorizing a vegetarian lunch party.
The full sized Deadly Spawn figure is made of soft vinyl, measures 9" tall and 11" deep and has 3 poseable heads and 2 tentacle arms. This is the definitive Deadly Spawn figure as we went all out trying to nail the accuracy!
“We are so close to starting production! Both toys have been hand sculpted, digitally scanned thanks to Arcane Visionaries and sent to the factory where they await the word from us to start. That’s where you come in! We hope that we will be able to start shipping these toys out in Q1 of 2019 with the rest of 2018 being used for production," says Justin Ishmael.
At the time of writing this article they've already raised nearly $16,000 of the $20,000 goal! With 29 days left in the campaign, it's safe to say that they'll meet their goal.
