Luca Guadagnino Wants To Make 'Suspiria' Sequels

It's not long before Luca Guadagnino's remake of Dario Argento's Suspiria dances into theaters, November 2nd to be exact. Apparently the film was going to be titled Suspiria: Part One but they dropped the title to give the impression that the film could stand alone. Guadagnino recently spoke with Deadline on this matter, you can check out an excerpt below.

“At the beginning, we were going to title the movie Suspiria: Part One but we didn’t want to give the impression of something that couldn’t stand alone. Truthfully, I’d be interested to explore the origin of Madame Blanc and Helena Marcus and the future of Suzy Bannion.”

Argento followed Suspiria with Inferno and Mother of Tears, two semi-sequels, but it would seem that Guadagnino will be making direct sequels to his film if he ends up doing so.

In the Suspiria remake, "A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe's artistic director (Swinton), an ambitious young dancer (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up."

Suspiria stars Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth, and the actress from the original film, Jessica Harper.

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke composed the score. David Kajganich wrote the film, co-financed by Amazon Studios and K Period Media.
