On Set Photos Of Joaquin Phoenix In Full 'Joker' Makeup And Costume

Yesterday, director Todd Phillips shared a camera test video of Joaquin Phoenix in full 'Joker' makeup from his upcoming Joker origin movie.

Today, on-set photos were "leaked" of Phoenix in full Joker garb and grease paint, giving us a better look at the new Joker. We must say, he actually looks pretty creepy.

You can check out the test footage and photos below.

The film also stars Frances Conroy, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron, Brett Cullen, Bill Camp (Red Sparrow), Shea Whigham (Kong: Skull Island), Glenn Fleshler (“True Detective”), Josh Pais (“Ray Donovan”) and Douglas Hodge (“Penny Dreadful”).

“I wouldn’t quite classify this as like any genre,” Phoenix told comicbook.com in a recent interview. “I wouldn’t say it’s a superhero movie, or a studio movie or a … It feels unique, and I think more then anything, and probably the most important thing, is Todd seems very passionate about it and very giving, and so that’s exciting.”

He continued, “I think, underneath the excitement of these films, and the size of them, there are these incredible characters that are dealing with real life struggles. And sometimes that is uncovered and exposed, and sometimes it isn’t, and so I always felt, like, there were characters in comics that were really interesting and deserve the opportunity to be kind of studied. And so I think that’s what Todd sees appealing about this idea.”

We'll have more details as they emerge.

The Joker movie is scheduled for release October 4th, 2019.
