Yeon Sang-ho is currently working on a sequel to his 2016 zombie blockbuster, Train to Busan and now we've learned that an English remake is currently in the works. Deadline has reported that James Wan is on board to produce the film, with Gary Dauberman (The Nun, IT 2017) writing the script.
Five different studios made bids for the rights package this week for a seven-figure sum. New Line, Universal, Paramount, Lionsgate and Screen Gems were all a part of the "bidding war," with New Line coming out on top. They're currently in the process of finalizing the deal.
French film company Gaumont is also producing alongside Was via his Atomic Monster production banner. No director has been attached.
We'll keep CryptTeaze readers updated on the film as it develops. We've posted the original film's synopsis and trailer below for those of you who aren't familiar with it.
