Entertainment Weekly has scored the first batch of photos from the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's Pet Sematary. Directed by Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, the duo behind the fantastic Starry Eyes.
In the photos you'll see John Lithgow in the role of Jud Crandall, originally played by the late, great Fred Gwynne. Jeté Laurence in the role of Ellie Creed, with Jason Clarke (Winchester) and Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die) as our new Louis and Rachel Creed. Twins Hugo Lavoie and Lucas Lavoie will play the iconic role of Gage Creed.
Of course, the most important photo of the lot is our first look at the undead kitty, Winston Churchill, also known as "Church".
In the new adaptation from Jeff Buhler, “Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”
Paramount will release the film on April 5th, 2019.
