Sony's 'Grudge' Reboot Moves Up 2 Months To Compete With 'Toy Story 4'

In an interesting move by Sony, Nicolas Pesce's (The Eyes of My Mother, Piercing) Grudge re-remake is now going to hit theaters 2 month early next summer, on June 21st, as opposed to August 19th. Giving the film a playdate with Woody and Buzz in Toy Story 4.

Of course, this is great news for fans that have been waiting on the film for years.

The film stars horror legend Lin Shaye, Andrea Riseborough, Demian Bichir (The Nun), and John Cho (“The Exorcist”), as well as Betty Gilpin (“Glow”), William Sadler (The Mist), Jacki Weaver and Frankie Faison.

Grudge is produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert for Ghost House with Nathan Kahane and Erin Westerman executive producing for Good Universe. Schuyler Weiss, Roy Lee, Doug Davison, John Middleton, and Andrew Pfeffer also produce.

As most of you know, the 2004 film was a remake of the 2002 Japanese film Ju-On: The Grudge, which centers on a curse created when someone dies in rage or sorrow.

Stay tuned to CryptTeaze for more details on the film as they develop.
