Eleven And Another Main Character Were Originally Going To Die In 'Stranger Things' Season O

The hardcover book "Stranger Things: Worlds Turned Upside Down: The Official Behind-The-Scenes Companion," was released today and features exclusive interviews, color photos and stunning concept art from the hit Netflix series.

NME has pointed out that some pretty big characters weren't originally planned to make it to the second season, one of them being Eleven!

“Eleven was going to sacrifice herself to save the day,” Ross Duffer said. “But once we realised that the show was potentially going to go on longer than one season, we needed to leave it more up in the air, because deep down we knew the show just wouldn’t really work without Eleven. And at that point, we knew how special Millie was. If there was going to be more Stranger Things, Eleven had to come back.”

Joe Keery’s character, Steve Harrington, was also meant to die in season one. We're glad he didn't because his transformation from douchebag to hero was one of the best aspects of Season 2.

“This Steve character, he was just supposed to be this giant douchebag,” Duffer said, adding it was Keery’s performance that changed the character's fate.
