Blumhouse Productions

Blumhouse has definitely been expanding their horizons lately, including the holiday themed horror anthology series "Into the Dark" with Hulu, and tonight we've learned that they've partnered with Amazon Studios for something similar.

Multiple sources, including Deadline, report that Amazon has sealed an exclusive production deal with Blumhouse Television to create "eight feature-length thrillers" that will be released globally on Amazon Prime Video.

While nothing regarding plot, directors, and release dates has been announced, the films will be darkly themed, feature filmmakers of diverse backgrounds, and will all have some sort of thematic element that connects them.

“We are delighted Amazon is entrusting Blumhouse to deliver its signature thrills and chills to its global audience through this deal,” said Jason Blum. “This is a great opportunity for Blumhouse Television to empower underrepresented filmmakers offering a fresh take on the dark genres loved by fans the world over.”
