Described as “Beaches meets The Exorcist," Grady Hendrix's second novel, My Best Friend’s Exorcism released back in 2016. Today, we have news that a film adaptation is now on the way.
Announced by The Hollywood Reporter, Endeavor Content has acquired the rights to the novel, with Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day) and Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. The site also states that Landon may direct.
"The year is 1988. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act…different. She’s moody. She’s irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s nearby. Jenna Lamia will write the script and Quirk Books will also produce.
