French producer and distributor, Samuel Hadida passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 26th at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, he was 64. His brother Victor announced and shared news of his illness via Moviehole. Both Samuel and Victor have owned and managed Metropolitan FilmExport, a French distribution company that they founded with their father.
Samuel was best known for producing True Romance and Domino with director Tony Scott and his collaboration with Constantin Film on Resident Evil and the Silent Hill franchises.
Victor Hadida on the passing of his brother, “Sammy’s passion and humor were infectious and his larger than life presence will certainly be missed. We are committed to honoring his life by bringing to fruition the numerous development projects under the Davis Films banner that Samuel so loved as well as the upcoming productions that were so important to him.”
