James Herbert's horror novel Shrine was released back in 1983 and today we have news via Deadline that Sam Raimi will produce a feature film adaptation for Screen Gems.
The story follows a disgraced journalist who tries to resurrect his career upon discovering a series of seemingly divine miracles in a small New England town, though he soon learns that the “miracles” may have a much darker source.
Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty and the Beast) will write and direct with Rob Tapert also producing.
