Jeffrey Dean Morgan To Return As John Winchester For 300th Episode Of "Supernatural"

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Returns To Supernatural John Winchester

Years before stepping in to the role of Negan in AMC's "The Walking Dead," Jeffrey Dean Morgan was hunting the forces of evil in "Supernatural" as John Winchester, the father of Sam(Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).

Morgan's run with the show began back in 2005 with the series pilot and continued through the Season 2 finale in 2007, where he was killed off. He hasn't appeared on the show since.

Last month, during a Twitter Q&A, Morgan stated that he'd be willing to return to the show if the story was right, and now Deadline reports that he will indeed be reprising the role next year!

“Morgan will appear in the episode titled “Lebanon” that will air Thursday, February 7 at 8 PM.”

"Lebanon" marks the series' 300th episode!

“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars,” said executive producer Andrew Dabb.
