Dave Bautista Joins The Cast Of Denis Villeneuve's Dune

Denis Villeneuve is easily one of this decade's most important filmmakers, having been behind Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival and the modern masterpiece, Blade Runner: 2049. Soon, the Academy Award-nominated director will be bringing Frank Herbert’s Dune back to the big screen for Legendary, with at least two movies. Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson previously joined the film's cast, and Deadline reports that Dave Bautista has now come aboard.

Dave Bautista, known for his role as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, also starred in Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049.

“Set in the distant future, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée ), whose family accepts control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, control of Arrakis is highly contested among competing noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship to nature as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s control of Arrakis.”

Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, and Charlotte Rampling also.
