Fans of 1987's live action Masters of the Universe have been waiting for another film for many, many years, and one has been in development limbo for quite some time. Today, we've learned that Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Men in Black: International, Iron Man) have been hired to rewrite the film's script originally written by David S. Goyer.
Deadline reports that the duo are in final talks to write a new draft for the long-gestating film, which is being directed by Adam and Aaron Nee (Band of Robbers).
The film will be based on the bestselling He-Man toyline from the 1980s that spawned an animated TV show and aforementioned feature from Cannon Films starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella played the villainous Skeletor.
Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, as well as DeVon Franklin are producing, with David S. Goyer executive producing.
