Edgar Wrights Next Movie Is A Psychological Horror-Thriller

Edgar Wrights Next Movie Psychological Horror-Thriller

The "Cornetto Three" are all making their ways back to horror this year, with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost returning in the horror comedy Slaughterhouse Rulez, and we've learned this week that the duo's frequent director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) is readying for a return to the genre, teased in a recent chat with Empire.

The site states that Wright’s next film will be “a straight up psychological horror-thriller,” which is set in London and features a female lead. Wright told Empire that both Don’t Look Now and Repulsion are influences on the film.

“I realized I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years,” Wright told the outlet. “With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”

Krysty Wilson-Cairns co-wrote the screenplay, with filming expected to begin this Summer.
