Leslie Jones Goes Off On Jason Reitman's 'Ghostbusters'

Leslie Jones Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters

Back in 2016, Paul Feig rebooted the Ghostbusters franchise with a remake of the original starring Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig as the main characters. The original plan was to kick off a new franchise with the female cast, until the box office numbers came in and that plan was scrapped.

Made on a budget of $150 million, the film took in $229 million worldwide, which just wasn't enough to continue the remake's story. Instead, Sony has now hired Jason Reitman to create a new sequel to the original films.

As it turns out, remake star Leslie Jones isn't to happy with this news and completely outed her feelings on her franchise being abandoned.

Jones tweeted, “So insulting. Like fuck us. We dint count. It’s like something trump would do. (Trump voice) ”Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeers, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain’t ghostbusteeeeers” ugh so annoying. Such a dick move. And I don’t give fuck I’m saying something!!”

“When the point is if they make this new one with all men and it does well which it will. It might feel that “boys are better” it makes my heart drop. Maybe I could have use different words but I’m allowed to have my feelings just like them.”
