'A Quiet Place' Receives Oscar Nomination For Best Sound Editing

A Quiet Place Hereditary Oscars Academy Awards

Well this should come as no surprise...The 91st Oscar nominations we announced early this morning and horror has once again been snubbed. At the very least, Toni Collette should've been nominated for a "Lead Actress" nomination for he outstanding work in Ari Aster's Hereditary. While the film may have diverse effects on horror fans, there's no denying that Collette's performance deserves praise and should be celebrated among the greatest of all time. Once again, the horror genre is ignored by the "film elite".

Only a single genre film made its way into next month's ceremony as John Krasinski's A Quiet Place received an Oscar nomination for "Best Sound Editing" and will be up against Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, First Man, and ROMA. Though doubtful, I wholeheartedly hope that A Quiet Place can take home the win.

The Academy Awards will air live February 24th at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on ABC, and I could care less.
