Dick Miller Has Passed Away

Dick Miller, a prolific screen actor best known for his role as Murray Futterman in the 1984 classic horror film Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch, has passed away at age 90, reports Variety.

With a career spanning more than 60 years, Miller has made hundreds of on screen appearances, beginning in the 1950s with legendary director and producer Roger Corman. It was then that he starred as Walter Paisley in the cult classic A Bucket of Blood, before going on to land roles on projects such as Fame and James Cameron's The Terminator.

Miller also boasts a long history of high-profile director partnerships, working with the likes of James Cameron, Ernest Dickerson, Martin Scorsese, John Sayles and, perhaps most notably, Joe Dante, who used Miller in almost every project he helmed.

Horror genre film fans will celebrate his work that also includes Joe Dante's The ‘Burbs, The Howling, and Piranha, in addition to small roles in Chopping Mall, Death Race 2000, Tales from the Crypt Demon: Night, Night of the Creeps, and many other beloved cult classics.

No matter how small the part, Miller's charm and acting skills made him feel like the lead character in any scene, easily enhancing the performances around him.

Without a doubt, Miller was an absolute pleasure to see on screen and generations of fans will cherish his work for years to come. Truly a one-of-a-kind talent and an absolute cinematic legend.
