At the beginning of the week, we shared the news that Don Mancini's Child's Play television series had found a home at SYFY, but there's also that MGM and Orion Child's Play remake on the horizon. Set to release this summer, we're now hearing (via Trailer Track) that the film's trailer will be arriving next week.
They report that the trailer will be attached to The Prodigy, which Orion will release in theaters next Friday, February 8th. So we expect the trailer will make its way to the web around then as well.
"Child’s Play follows a mother (Aubrey Plaza) who gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature."
The film also stars Emmy and Tony nominee Brian Tyree Henry ("Atlanta") as Mike, Beatrice Kitsos (FOX’s “The Exorcist”), and Ty Consiglio (Wonder).
Lars Klevberg will direct from Tyler Burton Smith’s (Kung Fury, Quantum Break video game) screenplay based on the original motion picture.
Child's Play arrives in theaters on June 21st, 2019.
