Arriving nearly 30 years after Mary Lambert's film adaptation of Stephen King's Pet Sematary, Paramount will release Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch‘s upcoming adaptation this April, and the second trailer has broken sour ground this morning.
The trailer is comprised of a lot of footage we've already seen, but it does *spoil one major plot twist* that would've been nice to be surprised by in theaters. So you've been warned, avoid the trailer if you'd like to enter the film as blind as possible. Sometimes (dead is better) trailers just reveal too much about a film.
There's also a new poster to check out below the trailer.
Jeté Laurence will play Ellie Creed, with Jason Clarke (Winchester) and Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die) as our new Louis and Rachel Creed. John Lithgow will be taking over the role of Jud Crandall, originally played by Fred Gwynne. Twins Hugo Lavoie and Lucas Lavoie will play the iconic role of Gage Creed. actress Alyssa Brooke Levine has been cast as Zelda, with Obssa Ahmed playing Victor Pascow.
In the new adaptation from Jeff Buhler,
“Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed, who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”
Paramount will release the film on April 5th, 2019.
