Kaslan Corp have revealed a revolutionary new product, the Artificial Intelligence human companion, Buddi, which is a new take on the Good Guys doll. While the Good Guys Chucky was possessed by the soul of a serial killer, the Buddi version is afflicted by an A.I. gone bad.
The new Chucky is unboxed in today's trailer for Orion Films’ Child’s Play reboot.
The reimagining follows a mother (Aubrey Plaza) who gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.
Judging by the trailer, the film seems to be taking things back to the scary basics of the franchise's humble beginnings. Hopefully Chucky still has his sense of humor as he kills off the cast! The trailer also does a great job of showing just enough to have us intrigued.
The film also stars Emmy and Tony nominee Brian Tyree Henry ("Atlanta") as Mike, Beatrice Kitsos (FOX’s “The Exorcist”), and Ty Consiglio (Wonder).
Lars Klevberg will directs from Tyler Burton Smith’s (Kung Fury, Quantum Break video game) screenplay based on the original motion picture.
Child's Play arrives in theaters on June 21st, 2019.
