Disney Looking To Possibly Create A New 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Film

Nightmare Before Christmas Sequel/Reboot Disney

Back in 1993, Henry Selick's gloriously enchanting and everlastingly entertaining stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas, opened in theaters just before Halloween, where it had a mildly successful theatrical run.

Produced (not directed) by Tim Burton, the film featured the voice of Fright Night‘s Chris Sarandon as Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, who discovers Christmas Town and attempts to bring Christmas to Halloween Town, resulting in disaster.

Since its release, the film has become a pop culture phenomenon, with Disney exploiting the brand year after tear. T-shirts, snow globes, collectible figures, and a re-issue of the film nearly every holiday season, the studio shows no sign of letting the film disappear.

Well get a load of this, Moviehole, reports that there’s talk at Disney to “do something with Nightmare Before Christmas – probably a sequel but live-action possible.”

This news comes as no surprise as Disney has been creating quite a few "live-action" remakes/reboots of beloved classics in recent years, The Jungle Book, Lion King, Aladdin and Dumbo to name a few. The latter of which sees Disney reunited with Burton, so we're sure Nightmare has been brought up during conversations. We expect to hear more on this soon.

What would you like to see? A "live-action" version? A sequel? A reboot? Nothing? Let us know in the comments!
