A decade after the release of Ruben Fleischer's Zombieland, filming has begun on the follow-up to the 2009 zombie comedy, which will reunite the original cast members. Officially titled Zombieland: Double Tap, the film will also feature a handful of new supporting cast members, one of which we've just learned will be The Final Girls and Godzilla: King of the Monsters star Thomas Middleditch.
Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin will all reprise their roles. Zoey Deutch, Avan Jogia and Rosario Dawson have also joined the cast.
In the film, “Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”
Fleischer will return to direct, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are also returning to write the script. Gavin Polone returns as producer, while Reese and Wernick will also serve as executive producers.
Zombieland: Double Tap hits theaters on October 11th, 2019.
